Yin Yoga

Service Description

A quiet practice which moves into stillness, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine (lying down) poses typically held for 1 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of the body including tendons and the fascia (our body’s connective tissue). The goal is to find the "edge" of sensation in the body, find stillness at that edge while absorbing sensation, and breathe through the mental chatter that inevitably occurs in stillness.  Expect gentle guidance, props for comfort, and plenty of time to breathe and soften. Students can expect to leave the class feeling deeply relaxed. Practices may include breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness exercises throughout each class. Perfect for beginners, seasoned practitioners, and anyone seeking rest, recovery, or a mindful reset. Class ends with a relaxing Śavāsana (final rest).
