Curious about our studio?
Frequently asked questions
We want you to feel comfortable at our studio from the moment you walk in the door so let us answer some common questions we get before a student's first class!

Our mission?
Bloom was created to provide a safe and holistic space to focus on body, mind, and spirit. We host a variety of classes, events, and workshops to help guide you and give you a stronger foundation to support you through life. Show up as you are, we provide the rest.
Worried you can't do yoga?
Yoga is not just about 'poses' but a practice of allowing the noisy mind to quiet, to feel into the body using the breath and movement, to allow your self to settle fully onto the mat. Our studio gives you the tools to calm the nervous system through life's ebbs and flows. We offer foundations, intro, and beginner yoga classes. We also offer private 1:1 sessions where you can chat with your teacher to tailor a practice that fits your lifestyle. Yoga is for EVERY body and all are welcome at Bloom.

What to bring?
Nothing at all! We have yoga mats, blocks, straps, blankets, bolsters, weights, sandbags, and everything you need to safetly and comfortably move through your practice. We even have herbal teas available for students (:
Location & parking info
Our building is located in historic Old Milford at 19 Water St, bottom floor on the left side of the building. Our entrance is street facing and there is parking behind the left side of the building (warning for uneven walking + slight hill). There is also a public lot just down the street from our studio and a few street spots out front, including one handicapped space.

Entering the studio
Upon entering the studio we ask that you remove your shoes and walk them to our back room where we have students keep their extra belongings. You can grab a mat and any props needed if the teacher hasn't already pre-set up your space (varies by teacher!). We have a restroom in the back room with hair ties, deodorant, feminine care items. We also have a water dispenser with teas available to you. This is a very cozy studio and we get to know our students by name, please never hesitate to ask questions to familiarize yourself- we want you to feel at home!
Which class is right for you?
Check out our teacher page or click on 'weekly classes' and scroll past the calendar to see a description of our classes. If you haven't tried a class in a while or have never tried yoga we encourage you to take one of our beginner or foundations classes. Modifications and props will be provided in any situation to ensure a comfortable and safe practice so feel free to try any class!

How to prepare for class
Be sure to eat a couple of hours before class and drink plenty of water throughout the day & after class. Wear clothing that is comfortable and moves with you as you will stretch, reach, twist, etc. Our studio is not a hot yoga studio and temperatures stay around 74 degrees. You can expect to take your shoes off so wear socks if you're not comfortable being barefoot.
What to expect after practice?
You may experience a clearer mind, calmer state, a more regulated nervous system, a better night's sleep. By drinking plenty of water after practice you can help to flush the lymph fluids that we get moving during practice which helps remove toxins from the body.
